Our Data Scientists work end-to-end with teams across Product, Design, Engineering, and Research on every aspect of the product life cycle to drive data-informed decision making all while balancing velocity with statistical rigor.

The Core Experience team is at the heart of everything our customers experience while shopping on the Instacart app. The team works alongside Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, and Design teams to create a seamless, personalized, and inspiring customer journey—all while ensuring every decision is customer-focused and data-informed.

Marketplace

The Marketplace team dives deep into the complexities of managing our four-sided marketplace. From making sure shoppers can easily find and fulfill work to product iteration to deliver an exceptional experience, this team is focused on developing new methodologies and tools to unlock more value for Instacart’s customers, shoppers, and partners.

Ads

As the largest online grocery marketplace in North America, we have an incredible opportunity to get consumer brands in the digital aisle. Our self-serve ads marketplace allows brand partners to choose how and when to promote their products. Through these advertising efforts, we’re able to offer these brands valuable insights into their ad campaign performance, and can help them optimize their ads spend.

Platforms & DS Foundations

Our apps are built with a focus on reliability, compliance, and financial predictability. We use core services like order management, third-party integrations, and fraud prevention, while also running a team dedicated to data foundations and improving our experimentation platform.

Growth & Ecosystems

Our Growth DSA team is responsible for analysis, tooling, and experimentation that drives user growth for Instacart. This team partners closely with Marketing and Product to build and optimize growth products and campaigns. Our mission is to leverage data-driven insights to guide the company’s growth.

Connected Stores

Connected Stores is our suite of technologies that are designed to help grocers build a connected, seamless and personalized experience for customers. The Connected Stores team is at the forefront of unifying the in-store and online shopping experience with technology such as Caper Carts, our AI-powered smart cart.
