ABOUT THE JOB
The Customer Team
The Instacart Customer team is responsible for the Instacart apps (iOS, Android) and website. We’re reimagining and designing the future of grocery shopping across the entire customer journey (from signup to checkout to delivery) to build a world-class service that transforms an industry. Joining the team means you’ll work closely with designers, researchers, engineers and other cross-functional partners to solve real-world problems for everyday people. You'll be part of the team responsible for crafting simple and beautiful experiences for millions of users.
The Storefront Team
Today, the shopping experience on Instacart is great if you know what items you’re looking for. However, we know that isn't the only way people shop or how it works in the real world. People often shop with a list, but they also use the store itself—browsing departments, exploring aisle end caps, seeing what’s on sale—to do build the majority of their cart. We're looking for a product designer to help us leverage everything we know about a customer (previous buying history, current cart, etc.) as well as new information we can uniquely collect (dietary preferences, allergies, etc.) to make it simple for people to find exactly what items they need and also discover new ones.
The Buy Team
The Buy team is responsible for the core of our commerce engine. We ensure that customers can build their cart, seamlessly checkout, and manage their order until it’s delivered to their door or picked up from the store. Throughout this process the team protects against fraud, ensures customers are charged the right amount, and facilitates communication between the shopper and customer, optimizing for successful orders and happy customers who come back again and again.
The Emerging Products Team
The Emerging Products team leads new initiatives that are tasked with exploring new business models and potential growth categories. We strive to prove viability of new product experiences across the entire company before handing off to core-functional teams. We're looking for a product designer to help offer new benefits for customers and unlock new opportunities for partners.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a product designer/UX designer in a relevant industry
- Fluency in the latest product design trends, tools and technology across platforms, mobile focused
